ACCA Publishes Understanding Manual J Guidebook

May 24, 2016

ACCA, the Indoor Environment & Energy Efficiency Association, published Understanding J Manual®, a companion guidebook to help contractors understand the standard and perform load calculations properly.

"Because load calculations are such an important part of designing a system that functions properly and provides optimal comfort to homeowners and their families, Manual J is a complicated procedure that can be difficult to understand," said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA president and CEO. "That is why ACCA developed this companion book. Manual J is the national standard for residential load calculation and is required by most building codes throughout the country. We want to make sure that contractors can meet the code requirements and serve their customers to the best of their ability."

Understanding Manual J is not a replacement for the original standard, but a resource to help you and your technicians fully understand how to run a load calculation.
