ACCA Announces New Hire and Staff Promotion

Arlington, VA (August 7, 2020) - The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) announces Matt Levinson as ACCA’s new member services coordinator, and the promotion of David Bixby to manager of codes and standards.

As ACCA’s member services coordinator, Levinson is responsible for delivering top-notch member service, connecting air conditioning contractors with member benefits for their entire team, while streamlining renewal processes and recruitment campaigns. He joins ACCA with more than 15 years of experience in sales and marketing support. Before joining ACCA, Levinson worked for Discovery Education, as a contract administrator. Prior to that, he spent 13 years at Bloomberg Industry Group as a sales and marketing support specialist, where he supported 30 inside sales representatives in areas of contract administration, lead assignment and sales reports and supported marketing in various research activities in preparation of online marketing campaigns.

“We are very fortunate to have Matt Levinson join our team,” said Sean Robertson, ACCA vice president of membership and business operations. “He brings an abundance of skills and experience that will help modernize ACCA’s delivery of valuable resources, content, and personal service to our members.”
David Bixby has served as Manager of Codes for ACCA since June 2016.  Prior to working for ACCA, David had 35 years of experience in HVAC industry codes, standards and regulations, with work experience at the American Gas Association, the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA), the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), as well as four other HVAC related manufacturers. David provides support to ACCA’s Codes Committee in reviewing proposed changes to codes under the auspices of the International Code Council (ICC) and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO).  In August 2020, David assumed responsibility for processing ACCA standards, approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). This includes maintaining ACCA’s 12 existing ANSI standards, as well as supporting the processing of new standards according to ANSI procedures. He will also provide secretarial support for ACCA’s Standards Task Team (STT).

“We are very grateful for all of the hard work David has done as the manager of codes,” said Wes Davis, ACCA technical services director. “As he takes on more responsibilities, as the manager of codes and standards, we have full confidence in him to sustain our compliance to ANSI requirements.”
