September 4, 2015

The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) announces an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review period for its BSR/ACCA 14 QMref -201x, “Quality Maintenance of Commercial Refrigeration Systems” as a new industry standard. The 30 day public review period started on 4 September, 2015 with a comment deadline of 4 October, 2015.

This new standard prescribes inspection tasks and offers recommended corrective actions to maintain commonly installed commercial refrigeration equipment and systems found in supermarkets, convenience stores, refrigerated warehouses, etc. Equipment checklists are provided by equipment type and detail the minimum visual inspections, performance tests, measurements, and component evaluations.

Changes made to the standard draft following the second public review have been consolidated into a two page document that shows underline for additions and strikethrough for deletions. These red-line changes to the standard draft are open for review and comment.

This consolidated red-line edits and response form can be found at www.acca.org/ansi.
