Understanding ACCA Manual D® - January 20, 2022 at 1PM ET

Understanding ACCA Manual D is a training on the basics of airflow and residential duct system design. The Overview of ACCA Manual D takes the nationally-recognized duct design standard and breaks it down in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. Topics include: Airflow Basics, Choosing a Blower, Creating Comfort Using Manual T, System Design, and Testing and Balancing.

Understanding ACCA Manual S® - February 8, 2022 at 1PM ET

Overview of ACCA Manual S® is a training opportunity that covers the basics of how to select and size heating and cooling equipment to meet Manual J loads based on local climate and ambient conditions at the building site. The Overview of ACCA Manual S takes the nationally-recognized residential load calculation standard and breaks it down in a way that's easy to understand and apply. The purpose of this program is to enlighten the user on the acceptable range of sizing possibilities for a given type of equipment. The user should have a working knowledge of ACCA Manuals J, D and T in order to use Manual S intelligently.

Understanding Humidity - March 8, 2022 at 1PM ET

This is all about the moisture in the air. What’s too much, what’s too little, how to add it and how to remove it. All terminology will be defined and explained, such as dry-bulb temperature, wet-bulb temperature, relative humidity, specific humidity, dew point, enthalpy and more. A complete explanation of the psychrometic chart will be offered and examples will be plotted thereon. This is a soup-to-nuts program on humidity.

Cooling Basics - March 15, 2022 at 1PM ET

THIS IS A TWO HOUR COURSE. Cooling Basics is a basic skills class for service techs or a refresher course for senior technicians prior to the beginning of the summer season. Instruction is offered on all basic skills including:

About the Instructor

Ed Janowiak

Ed comes to ACCA with over thirty-five years of HVAC experience, and more than twenty years, delivering technical topics from his time as the technical director at Eastern Heating and Cooling Council based out of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. Janowiak has over fifteen years of practical experience in the field as a service manager, technician, and installer - working at various companies, and as the owner and president of Bramante Energy, Inc.
