ACCA ANNOUNCES ANSI PUBLIC REVIEW PERIOD FOR REAFFIRMATION OF ACCA STANDARD 12 QH® - HOME EVALUATION & PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT

Alexandria, VA (February 6, 2024) - The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) announces an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review period for the reaffirmation of ANSI/ACCA Standard 12 QH® – 2018, Home Evaluation and Performance Improvement.

The 45-day ANSI public review period started on January 5 with a comment deadline of February 19. Per ANSI procedures, reaffirmations of existing standards must be announced for public comment every 5 years, even if no changes have been proposed.

This standard establishes minimum requirements to evaluate a residence with regard to energy efficiency, water conservation, occupant comfort, and indoor air quality.

From this evaluation, improvement opportunities are presented by a design practitioner to the client so that they can select improvements that meet their needs. This standard applies to site-constructed or manufactured one-and two-family dwellings, townhouses, and individual residential units in multifamily buildings.
